Photographed during 2011 at various locations across Scotland the Historic Scotland print suite for 2012 features property guides, event guides, members handbook and explorer map.

Over 2 million leaflets and books are printed each year and distributed across the UK. Look out for them next time you are in a visitor information centre.

The wait is nearly over for the Festival of Museums


Characters in costume from throughout the decades gathered at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow to await the launch of the Festival of Museums 2012.

The 18th-20th May 2012 will see the return of Festival of Museums, one of Scotland's most innovative and exciting programmes designed to ignite imaginations and celebrate Scotland's wealth of culture.

enLIGHTen: Edinburgh - The City of Literature in a new Light


To celerate the Year of Creative Scotland, historic locations across the centre of Edinburgh were lit up using projections inspired by the Scottish Enlightenment.

The City of Literature commissoned new writing from six authors which relate to the locations chosen. The project ran from the 1st to the 18th March 2012.

Jump to it! Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo recruits ECA


Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Chief Executive and Producer Brigadier David Allfrey MBE is joined by piper, dancers and Edinburgh College of Art students as the search for an Edinburgh College of Art student to become its official artist in residence is launched.

The post runs from May to September and carries a 1,500 stipend. It offers the successful student the opportunity to create original work for the promotion and celebration of the Tattoo and its 2012 production. It is anticipated that the student's work will be displayed at an exhibition held later this year
