The National Trust for Scotland recently teamed up with supermarket giant Lidl to collaborate on The Lidl Book of Big Adventure which encouraged children to explore NTS properties across Scotland.
I was commissioned to produce a series of 4 films for use across the NTS social media channels.
I was directly involved in the planning stage with key members of the NTS comms department to ensure that the aims and objectives of the campaign were met which involved story boarding the key elements of the film.
The shoot took place at The Hermitage in Perthshire which is a NTS property and involved a family of 4 models, comms and ranger staff from NTS and key members of the Lidl team. My role was director of photography which involved directing the models and operating the various cameras on the shoot which involved gimbal shots, slo motion, hand held and locked off tripod shots.
I travelled up to the location the day before the shoot so that I could scout out the best scenes and gather some B-roll footage.
The use of royalty free music and colour grading during the edit gave the film a dynamic look and feel and it has been widely viewed on social media.
This was a great project to be involved in.
