If memory serves me right, this marks my 17th year photographing the Forth Awards. Seventeen years — from the old charm of the Assembly Rooms to the grand sweep of the Usher Hall — and yet every time I walk through those doors, it still feels special. There’s a moment, usually when the lights come up for the first act, when I’m reminded why this event has become the unofficial start of the Christmas season for me. The buzz, the anticipation, the familiar faces… it’s like stepping into a tradition I’ve grown with.
This year’s event didn’t disappoint. The lineup was nothing short of electric: Tide Lines filling the hall with that unmistakable energy, Connor Burns cracking the place up, Craig Hill owning the stage as only he can, and icons like Wet Wet Wet, Amy MacDonald, Claire Richards, Angie Brown, Oceanic, and Robin S reminding everyone why their music still hits home. And guiding the whole afternoon, with that effortless blend of humour and heart, were the brilliant hosts, Boogie and Arlene.
Every year has its highlights — but this one felt like a celebration not just of talent, but of all the years, memories, and moments that have made the Forth Awards such a joy to capture.
