This is Cathkin Park

This film for Historic Environment Scotland was so much fun to produce. Look out for the references to The Clash and Elvis Presley.

Once home to Scotland’s national football team and the second reincarnation of Hampden Park, Cathkin Park is a site of national importance. While Queen’s Park moved on in 1903, the history of this park didn’t end there.
By 1904, a new stadium was built, renamed New Cathkin Park, home to Third Lanark.

So, what was their story? And what remains of the club and the stadium today? Lindsay Hamilton, owner of Glasgow Football Tours, is here to help us tackle the history of this special park.
