Gladstones Land

Gladstone’s Land is one of the oldest buildings on Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile dating back over 500 years. It is cared for by the National Trust for Scotland and has recently undergone a £1.5 million restoration. Visitors will be able to enjoy the new ground floor ice cream parlour and coffee shop and on the upper floors explore the new immersive visitor experience that takes you through three centuries of Gladstone’s Land history. They will also be able to learn about the fascinating lives of the people who lived and worked in the property and view beautiful, hand-painted ceilings from 1620.

It’s amazing that this historic building in the heart of Edinburgh still survives and it was an absolute privilege to be commissioned by National Trust for Scotland to photograph it.
